Professional Development Committee (ATA Programs)

Committee Objective

A primary goal of the Association is to foster and support the professional development of translators and interpreters. The Professional Development Committee was established to offer ATA members quality continuing education programs and opportunities, in addition to the Association’s Annual Conference program.

The Professional Development Committee (ATA Programs) is asked to do the following:

• identify current and future professional development needs of working translators and interpreters;
• plan, implement, and market workshops and seminars to meet these needs;
• collect and assess feedback from attendees for the purpose of future professional development activities; and
• develop a budget for professional development programs that allows the events to be self-sustaining.
