How to Download
To download this issue of the LTD newsletter, click Language Tech News September 2007 or visit the LTD website at www.languagetechdivision.org and click on Newsletter Archive in the menu on the left.
Name the LTD Newsletter ... Still
You've likely noticed that we still don't have a proper name for our newsletter or a logo. In Issue 2, we put out a call for submissions for a name and/or logo, but response has thus far been very limited. We're therefore leaving the contest open until October 19, 2007.
Ideas for a newsletter name, a division logo, or both should be emailed to the editor, Lisa Carter. Submissions will be presented during our division meeting at the ATA Annual Conference in San Francisco (October 31-November 3, 2007) and hold a vote to choose the winning name and logo. We look forward to your participation.
See Your Name in Print
If you've got an idea for an article related to language technology, tools, methods, or products – that is, an unbiased, user-based description or opinion piece – we'd like to hear from you. Both members and non-members may submit articles for consideration. Submissions should be no longer than 2000 words, but if you've got something a little longer, contact me and we can discuss dividing it into parts to be published in consecutive issues.
The submission deadline for the next issue of Language Tech News is November 23, 2007. Articles should be sent electronically in .doc or .rtf format to Lisa Carter, Editor. Please include a short bio, ideally containing your email or website contact.
