Job Analysis Focus Group — Orlando, FL
ATA-certified translators will have an opportunity to participate in a unique job analysis focus group at this year's ATA Annual Conference in Orlando, FL. This free session, limited to ATA-certified translators, will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 5, 2008.
What is Job Analysis?
Job analysis is a process to identify and determine in detail the particular tasks for a given job and the relative importance of these duties.
About this Focus Group
The primary goal of this job analysis focus group is to define the job of a translator. Participants will be asked to review and discuss current translator job descriptions gathered from a variety of sources. The moderator, Dr. Claudia Angelellii, will lead feedback and brainstorming sessions throughout the meeting.
This initiative is being conducted as part of a larger research project that is exploring accreditation of the ATA certification exam.
Participation in the job analysis focus group is free. Attendees will be limited to ATA-certified translators.
Why Participate?
ATA translators who participate in the focus group will find this a way of contributing their knowledge and expertise to a project that will enhance the ATA Certification Program and the translation profession.
