CETRA Language Solutions, of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The company was founded by ATA Past President Jiri Stejskal.

Jean Leblon has been nominated for the Community Contribution Award by the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the French-American Chamber of Commerce.‎ The award recognizes excellence among individuals and organizations contributing to the French-American community in the Pacific Northwest. He is a former ATA director.

Ghada Shakir presented at the TEDx Conference at Northern Illinois University. She spoke about her work as a translator and interpreter. Shakir is the assistant administrator of ATA’s Arabic Language Division and serves on the board of directors of the Midwest Association of Translators and Interpreters, an ATA chapter.

Marguerite Shore’s tribute to the legendary George Braziller, who recently died at age 101, has been published by Artforum. Braziller’s publishing house introduced Americans to numerous novelists and poets from abroad, including Jean-Paul Sartre and Orhan Pamuk.

David Stephenson’s Dutch into English translation of Dutch journalist Willem Oltmans’ book, Reporting on the Kennedy Assassination (Een reportage over de Kennedy-moordenaars), has been published by the University Press of Kansas. Stephenson is chair of ATA’s Certification Committee.

Tess Whitty has published Marketing Tips for Translators—The Ultimate Collection of Business Tips from the Podcast. The book is adapted from material presented on her Marketing Tips for Translators podcast, where freelance translators and interpreters learn tips from their colleagues and other experts on how to grow and thrive in their freelance business. Whitty is chair of ATA’s Membership Committee.
