ATA Recruiting Volunteers for
Red Cross
-
ATA-American Red Cross Partnership for Preparedness
In partnership with the American Red Cross (ARC), ATA is recruiting volunteers from its membership to serve as interpreters during disaster relief operations.
ATA participating volunteers have the opportunity to serve in a variety of positions: some will serve regionally in response to local emergencies, while others will work as part of a team deploying to major disasters, such as hurricanes. All volunteers receive training in disaster services/community relations.
The ATA-ARC partnership is a special opportunity for ATA interpreters and translators to use their professional skills for the greater good. Learn more now about becoming a volunteer for the Red Cross. Click ATA-ARC Partnership for Preparedness.

ATISDA Wordfast Workshop
San Diego, California • October 25, 2008
The
Association of Translators and Interpreters in the San Diego Area (ATISDA) is offering a hands-on seminar covering beginner to intermediate Wordfast functions. ATISDA is a recently established association that represents many of the reasons groups organize: to provide educational sessions and workshops for language professionals; to publicize the availability of local translators and interpreters; and to increase the community’s awareness of translation and interpreting. But the biggest benefit of groups and face-to-face meetings? Shaking hands, asking questions, and getting to know colleagues in person — networking techniques that are now more valuable than ever in an era where everyone seems to be just an email address. Click ATISDA's Wordfast Workshop for details.
