Robert Killingsworth

• Robert Killingsworth has been a freelance French-to-English translator since 1991, specializing in finance and economics and working primarily with translation agencies serving the Paris market. End clients for whom he has translated include all the major French banks and brokerage houses, corporate finance and research boutiques, securities and derivatives exchanges, regulatory bodies, public financial institutions, trade associations, accounting firms, rating agencies, and insurance, utility, and industrial companies.

• Robert holds a bachelor's degree from Amherst College, where he majored in English, and an M.Phil. from Yale University in Economics. He qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 1986 and has served as a grader of CFA exams for most of the past decade. For almost 20 years before becoming a translator and freelancer, he held salaried positions in academia and telecommunications, in New Haven, New York, and Boston. He now lives in Palo Alto, nine time zones removed from his customers, and is active in the Northern California Translators Association.
