The Language of Brazilian Balance Sheets

• Translating a balance sheet looks like an easy job until the translator begins to notice that the translation itself does not "balance", in other words, that it does not create a coherent whole. The aim of this session is to help participants identify and solve translation problems when doing a Brazilian balance sheet into English. The focus will be the handful of terms which cause the most problems, but the handouts will include the translation of a composite Brazilian balance sheet into English for further guidance.
