The Language of Organizations with Emphasis on Business Organizations
Because American and Brazilian legal traditions differ so much, even concepts that appear to be basic in English may defy translation into Portuguese or vice-versa. In this session, instructor and participants analyze a grid where forms of organization (business and non-business) are compared. Added attention will be given to tricky forms peculiar to Brazil, such as sociedades em conta de participação, so often misunderstood and mistranslated.
At the end of the session, participants will have a clear image of the similarities and differences between Brazilian and U.S. forms of organization and of how they should be dealt with in translation.
