The Language of Organizations with Emphasis on Business Organizations

• Because American and Brazilian legal traditions differ so much, even concepts that appear to be basic in English may defy translation into Portuguese or vice-versa. In this session, instructor and participants analyze a grid where forms of organization (business and non-business) are compared. Added attention will be given to tricky forms peculiar to Brazil, such as sociedades em conta de participação, so often misunderstood and mistranslated.

• At the end of the session, participants will have a clear image of the similarities and differences between Brazilian and U.S. forms of organization and of how they should be dealt with in translation.
