German-English Financial Terminology Clinic

• How many potential translations are there for Beteiligung or realisieren? And how do you know when to choose the right one? Why is it dangerous to translate Schuldverschreibung as a "debenture"?

• This session will give participants an opportunity to discuss and debate some of the terminology challenges that frequently face German-to-English financial translators. Robin will kick off the "clinic" with a list of terms that seem to confuse many translators, but participants are encouraged to bring with them their own terminology problems for an open, workshop-style discussion.
