Danilo Nogueira
Danilo Nogueira was born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1942. He began dabbling in translation very early in life, but only became a full-time professional in 1970. His involvement with accounting and finance began with his first job as a staff translator for a large CPA firm.
A prolific writer, his articles have appeared in the U.S., U.K., Brazil and even in Hungary. However, he is best known for his work for the Translation Journal (http://www.accurapid.com/journal/).
Danilo is a frequent speaker on subjects of general interest to translators and his seminars on accounting and financial terminology have been conducted in three different cities in Brazil,attracting people from eight Brazilian states. In addition, he spent some time early this year in Portugal conducting training sessions for Portuguese translators who must work from English into Brazilian Portuguese.
He is currently working on a series of glossaries. At this writing, Portuguese-English glossaries on Financial Statements and Corporate Law have been published. His books are published by Editora SBS ( http://www.sbs.com.br).
In addition to freelancing for several companies, Danilo now is an advisor for Traduções Joanita Haimerl, where, among other things, he is implementing translation memory software.
