Richard Tretler
Richard Tretler is currently senior vice president for Finance and treasurer of Prominent USA Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Itochu International Inc. Itochu is one of the largest Japanese trading companies with global revenue in excess of $150 billion. Prominent, a company with volume in excess of $300 million, is Itochu's fashion subsidiary in the U.S. and sells textiles and garments to most major designers and specialty retailers here in the U.S. Prominent also oversees the licensing and distribution of designer and luxury goods in Japan.
As senior vice president, Richard directs finance, accounting and operations for Prominent and is involved with legal, distribution, and licensing in the U.S. and Japan.
He has extensive knowledge of international issues, having been in the textile, cosmetics, and toy industry for over 20 years. He was CFO of Nantucket Inc., a public apparel company and was CFO of divisions of Revlon Inc., Time Warner, and Orlane Cosmetics, a subsidiary of an Italian pharmaceutical company.
Richard has a BS in Economics with a major in accounting from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the Graduate School of Business of Syracuse University.
Richard has taught at NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies as an instructor with the Translation Studies program, helping students understand the basics of finance and accounting.
