Igor Vesler
Igor Vesler has a B.S. in Electronic Engineering and an M.S. in Information Systems. From 1973 to 1989, he was a systems analyst and senior research associate in the Information Retrieval Systems Department at Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Information (Kyiv, Ukraine).
From 1990 to 2000 he was manager of Production and Product Development for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (New York, N.Y.).
Since 1975, he has worked as a freelance Russian and Ukrainian legal and technical translator and interpreter. Currently, Mr. Vesler is an independent consultant. His major areas of activity include integrated language support for large- and medium-scale projects, including technical and legal translation, multilingual document and terminology management and information/data processing technology. In 1991, he established Diken Research, a translation and information services company assisting U.S. Government and major U.S. companies and law firms in their projects in Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Major industries include oil and gas (both upstream and downstream), nuclear engineering, aerospace engineering and missile technology, disarmament and non-proliferation, international banking and project financing, as well as law. He developed the Russian Court Interpreter Tests implemented in the U.S. state court system.
He is ATA-accredited in the English-to-Russian language pair and by Berlitz International as an English/Ukrainian court interpreter.
