ATA Pro Bono Project
In conjunction with ATA's Annual Conference, volunteer members have often organized a pro bono project for a non-profit organization based near the Conference site. These projects not only highlight the critical role that translators and interpreters play in our society but also give volunteers an opportunity to make a difference.
Past ATA Pro Bono Projects have included:
| 2007 | San Francisco | Center for the Art of Translation |
| 2006 | New Orleans | City of New Orleans |
| 2005 | Seattle | Seattle Cancer Care Alliance |
| 2003 | Phoenix | Child Help USA |
| 2001 | Los Angeles | Starlight Foundation |
| 2000 | Orlando | Everglades National Park |
| 1999 | St. Louis | Scott Joplin House |
Thank you to all the volunteer translators, interpreters, reviewers, and desktop publishers who have so generously given their time and energy to these projects. If you are interested in offering your services for a pro bono project, please contact Walter Bacak at ATA, walter@atanet.org or 703-683-6100, ext. 3006.
