ATA Pro Bono Project

In conjunction with ATA's Annual Conference, volunteer members have often organized a pro bono project for a non-profit organization based near the Conference site. These projects not only highlight the critical role that translators and interpreters play in our society but also give volunteers an opportunity to make a difference.

Past ATA Pro Bono Projects have included:

2007 San Francisco Center for the Art of Translation
2006 New Orleans City of New Orleans
2005 Seattle Seattle Cancer Care Alliance
2003 Phoenix Child Help USA
2001 Los Angeles Starlight Foundation
2000 Orlando Everglades National Park
1999 St. Louis Scott Joplin House

Thank you to all the volunteer translators, interpreters, reviewers, and desktop publishers who have so generously given their time and energy to these projects. If you are interested in offering your services for a pro bono project, please contact Walter Bacak at ATA, walter@atanet.org or 703-683-6100, ext. 3006.
