Beacons XI: Call for Volunteer Editor
The ATA Literary Division (LD) invites applications for a volunteer Editor of Beacons XI to be published in late 2010. There is a small honorarium for this position. Beacons is an annual peer-reviewed journal published by the American Translators Association's Literary Division. Beacons XI will be published online with source texts available along with the target text wherever possible. There will be no print version of Beacons XI.
The new editor should be prepared to begin work by December 2008. Editorship of Beacons is a prestigious opportunity for an individual with outstanding editing and proofreading skills, as well as an interest and commitment to literary translation. The editor will work with the LD Administrator, the Assistant Administrator, and ATA staff. Publishing guidelines will follow those established by ATA.
Applications should include a curriculum vitae and a letter of application that outlines a vision statement for Beacons XI, setting forth goals and plans for the editorial board. Applications should be emailed as a Microsoft Word document to Enrica J. Ardemagni, LD Administrator. The deadline for applications is October 1, 2008. Nominations for candidates for this position will also be taken into consideration. Applicants must be ATA members.
