The discovery and development of new drugs is a highly technical process with its own jargon. Even an experienced translator with a scientific background can have difficulty in understanding this jargon and its correct usage in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

This 60-minute webinar will focus on some key areas of interest to pharmaceutical translators, including the new biological drugs that translators will increasingly encounter in regulatory documentation.

About the Presenter

Dr. Ed Zanders is the founder and managing director of PharmaGuide, a consulting group offering " How the Drug Discovery Industry Works" courses to a range of clients, from professionals with no scientific background to PhD level scientists. The firm also provides training and coaching in scientific presentation skills.

Ed has over twenty-five years' experience in research in biochemistry and related sciences, including sixteen years as a senior scientist and research manager at Glaxo, where he specialized in drug discovery research for inflammatory diseases. He subsequently became a research manager at DeNovo Pharmaceuticals, a small Cambridge drug design company, where he gained firsthand experience of the scientific and business interactions between small biotechnology start-ups and large pharmaceutical companies

As a trainer, Ed draws on his experiences not only to provide informed content, but also to communicate technical material to specialists and non-specialists alike.
