About the Presenter

Javier F. Becerra is a renowned Mexican lawyer and author of the Dictionary of Mexican Legal Terminology (Spanish-English) and the Dictionary of US Legal Terminology (English-Spanish). He completed his law studies at Escuela Libre de Derecho in Mexico City and graduated Suma Cum Laude in 1967. He continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge (Trinity College), England, where he obtained a Diploma in Comparative Legal Studies. Javier worked at the Basham, Ringe y Correa law firm for more than 40 years and retired as managing partner.

He has been a professor at Escuela Libre de Derecho for 30 years and has been teaching international contract law as a special graduate course. Javier has been a speaker at national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops. His areas of expertise include consulting services for major multinational companies on international commercial transactions, international mergers and acquisitions, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating cross-border and international contracts, corporate law, real estate, antitrust law, foreign investments, joint ventures, banking, securities, in-bond manufacturing operations, and comparative law.
