SUMMARY:Top 20 Most Difficult Medical Terms to Translate
DESCRIPTION:Save time and gain newfound confidence in your medical translation when you master the top 20 terms that cause you the most doubt!\nThis webinar will be presented in Spanish. \nThere are always some medical terms that raise doubts when you’re translating. They are often basic and appear in practically all medical translations. Some come to you almost automatically\, and you know they work in the translation. Yet\, you always have to look them up—or at least you should but can’t always do so—because you aren’t entirely sure of their meaning. \nFrom a list of the most searched terms in the most commonly used medical dictionaries\, presenter Pablo Mugüerza has selected the top 20 terms that cause medical translators to question themselves\, including open label\, trial and study\, tolerability and tolerance\, and more. Learning how to master their translation\, and that of other closely related terms\, will help you save time and gain newfound confidence in your work. \nAlthough this may seem like a webinar for beginners\, it is anything but! Even intermediate and advanced professionals will benefit from understanding basic medical terms. \nYou will learn how to:\n\nSpend less time documenting common terms\nProduce quality translation based on understanding\, not repetition\nImprove your confidence in your medical translation ability\nThink and problem solve like an experienced medical translator\n\nAbout the Presenter\nPablo Mugüerza is an English>Spanish translator with more than 36 years of experience in medical translation. He graduated with a degree in medicine in 1987\, and since then has worked for a number of well-known translation agencies in Spain and internationally\, in addition to translating for many major pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations. Since 2009\, he has also been involved in translator training\, and he has presented more than a hundred workshops\, courses\, and conferences in both English and Spanish. He is the author of the Manual of Clinical Trial Protocols: English-to-Spanish Translation. Pablo will be the Medical Division’s distinguished speaker at ATA’s 63rd Annual Conference.
