Anne M. Crawford
Description
After having lived in Mexico for 20 years, I speak, read, and write Spanish with native fluency, and am completely bicultural. I've also spent time in Spain and Italy. The familiarity with Latin cultures that this affords me gives me an extra edge in literary translation. I'm also an author in my own right, as well as an experienced copy and line editor, a combination not often found in literary translators, which ensures a polished final product.
I've been successful in combining my abilities in translation and copy/line editing to create the highly-specialized niche skill of translation editing. I recently edited the English translation of Touched, a four-book paranormal romance series by bestselling Italian author Elisa Amore, and have edited the translation of the first book of her new series. In another recent project, I edited the English translation of Killing Pythagoras, a historical crime thriller written by bestselling Spanish author Marcos Chicot. The Spanish version of this novel (El Asesinato de Pit√°goras) was the top-selling Spanish ebook in the world for five consecutive months.
My work in literary translation includes another novel by Marcos Chicot (recently chosen as runner up for the 2016 Premio Planeta), as well as novels by other bestselling Spanish authors such as Álvaro Botija and Carlos Server. I am currently engaged in translating from Italian to English a new YA paranormal romance series by emerging Italian author Angela Camilla Pontone.
