I have translation experience going back to the late 1990s and have been translating full-time since the early 2000s. Over the years, I have accumulated considerable experience in the field of architecture and design and in the field of urban development and planning. I also have experience and enjoy translating content in the energy and environmental fields. Other areas of experience include, marketing and market research, content for user's manuals, and general business.
I have a BA in East Asian Studies, an interdisciplinary social science major, from UCLA and an MA from the University of Chicago. My master's thesis for the latter was on Japan's Information Disclosure Law. I passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Examination Level 1 in 1997. I lived and worked in Tokyo from 1994 to 2001. Having first learned Japanese as an adult, I continuously develop my Japanese language skills, with a special passion for reading.
