Languages:
I am Native speaker of Urdu and Punjabi and having the native fluency in Hindi.
Besides, I have good level of command in English. I have also good command on Farsi and elementary level of knowledge about Arabic. Though I never tried to translate other than my native languages; Urdu and Punjabi.
Qualification:
I am having Master Degree in Urdu language and literature from Punjab University, Lahore (Pakistan).
I am also having Master Degree in Economics from the same University.
Credentials:
I am an Urdu journalist. My articles are published in a leading Urdu Newspaper published from New York and these articles are greatly admired by the Urdu Community living in North America.
I am Secretary of Halqa e Arbab e Zouq (Urdu/Punjabi Writers’ and Intellectuals’ forum) based in Queens, NYC. We arrange fortnightly meetings of poets, writers, journalists and intellectuals.
I am author of two books in Urdu; my Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi poetic collection published in 2001 as “Guzar Gah e Khayaal” (The passage of thought), my second Urdu book is, “Culture Kahani” (Story of Culture), it was published in 2005. This is the collection of my articles about the cultural life of Pakistan written for an Urdu newspaper, which is published, simultaneously from New York (USA) and Islamabad (Pakistan).
My first book of Punjabi “Ik Nuktay Vich” (In a small dot) is under publication from Pakistan. This includes my articles about the Classical Punjabi Poetry, depicting the rich and indigenous secular cultural values of Eastern and Western Punjab.
Translation Experience
I am doing Urdu translation since 1983 since I was a college student in Islamabad, Pakistan. Practically I started Urdu translation in 1984 when I joined the Daily Urdu newspaper “Tamir” which was used to publish from Rawalpindi, Pakistan. My duties included translation of news from English to Urdu and then it’s proofreading. Since then I have translated ten of Millions of words from and into Urdu.
I started translation from and into Punjabi since 1992. I started this by translating
Short stories from English. I am fully aware of both the Punjabi Scripts; Shahmukhi or Western Script of Punjabi used in Pakistan and Gurumukhi or Eastern Script used in India.
I have good experience in all the subjects e.g. Education, Medical, Legal, Social, Political, and Technical fields. My specialty is Literature and Poetry.
I moved to the USA in 2001 and started my translation career here. Now I have the
clients through out the USA, Canada, Europe and Asia.
I am doing the translation here in the USA for Board Of Educations of different cities in different States, translation for Universities, Hospitals, NGOs, Human Right Organizations, pharmaceutical companies, banks, Hotels, Insurance companies, electronic, software, cell phone companies, legal related translation and general translation.
Interpretation Experience
This is relative new experience for me and I have only three years of experience in this field. But this was so much intensive that it groomed me out in very short time in a professional interpreter as well. I have done hundreds of medical, legal, business, Court, escort and telephonic interpretation in most professional fashion.
