Description

I specialize in translation of literary and social scientific/humanistic/philosophical texts from Persian into English, and social scientific/humanistic/philosophical texts from French into English. I have studied Persian in Isfahan, Iran; French in Paris; and Arabic in Sanaa, Yemen. I am a socio-cultural anthropologist by training, as well as a researcher in medieval Islamic history with peer-reviewed publications. I also worked in finance, and drew on that experience as a researcher in the sociology of finance, during which I co-authored a book on the sociology of the investment management industry.
