Description

As a native English speaker who spent 16 years living and working in Germany as an adult, I am fluent in the language and have a deep understanding of the German culture and mindset. My time in Germany and the United States has given me a broad understanding of both the German and American mentalities that enables me not only to translate texts, but to adapt them to suit our different cultural perspectives. My areas of speciality include marketing, corporate communications and general business. I hold degrees in English Literature and German from Florida Atlantic University and in Psychology from the University of Bonn.

My past work includes marketing adaptations for numerous international campaigns, automotive manuals for a major German-American car company, brochures for several German federal ministries as well as staff magazines and corporate communications material for German companies both large and small. I love words and language and my work reflects this. My goal when translating is to accurately mirror the meaning and tone of the original text in a quality that readers would never identify as a translation.

I work with all standard Microsoft Office software as well as SDL Trados Studio 2011, Star Transit NXT and MemoQ 5.
