Originally from Quito-Ecuador, Santiago Arias worked his way to U.S. to learn the English language and pursue the American dream. And he did it!

After learning the English language in the intensive English program at Texas Tech University in 8 months, Santiago started his journey in graduate education.

Presently, Santiago holds a master's degree on Linguistics with certification for English and Spanish as second languages, and a master's and doctoral degrees in communication, with several academic publications in reputable journals.

Santiago has taught over 2,000 students in college with passion, respect, and success in subject areas such as (1) Spanish as a second language, (2) theories and methods for communication research, and (3) professional business communication offered in both English and Spanish languages.

Santiago served as an associate research manager for Anheuser-Busch. From survey creation to results presentation, he executed about 130 custom market research studies reaching about 25,000 respondents. His work supported strategic business decisions for key brands within the Anheuser-Busch InBev portfolio such as Michelob ULTRA, Bud Light, Stella Artois, Busch, Budweiser, Cantaritos, and Cutwater among others. He also translated surveys and research findings into clear and compelling articles, case studies, guidance documents, playbooks and toolkits, and human-interest stories about ethnography-marketing research projects.

Presently, he serves as an interpreter and translator for the Health and Legal Sectors in the St. Louis, Missouri area and teaches Spanish as a second language at the prestigious St. Louis University.

Santiago's business and research experience along with his graduate degrees in linguistics and communication make him an experienced Hispanic-and-Latinx cultural expert.
