The second edition sold out in March 2018\, and a third edition is currently in progress. You will learn to approach the translation revision process with a practical\, critical perspective and discover handy strategies for preventing and detecting errors—key skills for improving translation quality on the exam and beyond. \nWe will also cover the optimal preparation methods and useful test-taking strategies\, as well as the technical and logistical aspects and specific restrictions of the current remote exam format\, to maximize your chances of success and improve your overall translation competence. \nIn this course\, you will:\n\nBecome familiar with the relevant aspects of ATA’s exam\, including how it is graded.\nLearn all the categories of translation errors.\nSee and analyze the most common errors in the English>Spanish translation pair.\nLearn the most effective strategies to prepare for and take the exam.\n\nAbout the Presenter\nDiego Mansilla\, PhD\, is the director of the Spanish-English Translation Program at the University of Massachusetts Boston. He has been a grader (English>Spanish) for ATA’s Certification Program since 2016. His areas of research are translation pedagogy\, collaboration in translation\, and online education. He is an ATA-certified English>Spanish translator with more than 20 years of experience.
