Silvana has also conducted English training for accountants at the Colegio de Ciencias Económicas de CABA and for accountants and lawyers at the Asociación Argentina de Estudios Fiscales. She is the author of a Spanish-English glossary of financial\, accounting\, and tax terms and co-author of a Spanish-English dictionary of commercial law. DESCRIPTION:Build a solid foundation for understanding intellectual property (IP) law and some of the key terminology used in the field.\nGlobalization\, the internet\, and digital data have all contributed to making IP a growing topic in legal translation. There are many types of IP documents that require translation\, and even experienced legal translators often feel they do not have all the answers when working in the field. \nThis webinar will cover how this branch of law works\, the types of IP documents\, the differences between IP legislation in the U.S.\, European Union\, and Latin America\, and the mechanisms to settle issues related to IP. In addition\, we will analyze original documents with specific terminology that IP translators often have to translate when working with attorneys\, companies\, and individuals involved in IP litigation. At the end of the session\, you will be ready to start your adventure with mobile app localization\, and you will know how to find your customers for this type of projects! \nYou will learn how to:\n\nLocalize different file formats used in mobile apps\nFind the best tools to use for localizing mobile apps\nTest mobile apps\nEnsure the localized app is as user-friendly as possible\nFind direct customers for mobile app localization projects\n\nSpecial Notes\n\nDue to the interactive nature of this event\, the workshop is limited to 30 participants.\nAttendees are encouraged to have their video and audio on and to actively participate in the discussions.\n\nAbout the Presenter\nDorota Pawlak is an English- and German-into-Polish translator specializing in information technology and localization. Based in Amsterdam\, Netherlands\, she collaborates with small and medium businesses and developers helping them take their websites and mobile apps into the global market. Dorota holds a master’s degree in translation and a master’s of science degree in multilingual computing and localization. In 2016 Dorota began teaching online localization courses and has recently published her new online course “Python for Translators” to introduce translators into the world of programming languages. When time allows\, Dorota shares her tips for freelancers on her website at DorotaPawlak.eu and publishes a blog on localization at PolishLocalisation.com. She is also a guest lecturer at the KU Leuven University in Antwerp where she teaches website and mobile app localization.
