In typical ChatLTD style\, the floor will be open for everyone’s questions\, queries and concerns. We look forward to seeing you there! \nTopic: The Art of Learning “Re-translation” \nDescription: \nIn a recent\, “real-life” translation project\, our presenter\, a San Francisco based translator specializing in cryptocurrency\, worked on the Spanish re-translation of The Art of Learning by Josh Waitzkin\, aimed at a Latin American audience.  \nThe process began with draft translations produced using DeepL\, which provided a solid foundation for the first phase. Each chapter was then reviewed line by line in collaboration with ChatGPT-4.0\, which acted as an AI editing assistant throughout the project.  \nTogether\, the linguist and his AI-assistant ensured conceptual fidelity\, stylistic consistency\, and natural flow by comparing the source and target texts\, refining register\, and adapting idiomatic and cultural nuances.  \nSpecial attention was paid to domain-specific terminology\, particularly in chess and tai chi\, verifying usage across Spanish-language sources to ensure accuracy and resonance.  \nThe workflow included several revision stages:\n– an initial alignment pass\n– a stylistic and cultural adaptation phase\, and\n– a final polish for tone and clarity \nThe result was a faithful\, readable translation that maintains the depth and rhythm of Waitzkin’s original\, tailored for Spanish-speaking audiences across Latin America.

This year\, we are breaking from the tradition of Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse due to unavailability of this restaurant in walking proximity. Instead\, we are going Greek style! Our dinner will take place in the private lounge of Meraki Greek Bistro located less than a 5-minute walk away from the conference hotel. Everyone is welcome!\n\nWHENThursday\, October 26 at 7 p.m.\nWHERE\n142 SE 1st Ave\nMiami\, FL 33131\n\nDinner will be held in a private lounge of Meraki Greek Bistro. Food is served family style and placed in the middle of tables. There will be both seating and standing room opening up more opportunities for networking and meeting new colleagues.
