About the Presenter
Mayra Franke has been an English>Spanish translator since 2004 in Guatemala. She is a professor at two universities in Guatemala and a freelance instructor and copy editor. She has a master’s degree in linguistics and Hispanic lexicography from the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE). She received a grant at the Guatemalan Spanish Language Academy (AGL), corresponding to the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language (part of RAE). Her publications include a style manual for college students and grammar resources for the Guatemalan National Core Curriculum. She was a speaker at the XVII International Lexicology and Lexicography Congress organized by the Peruvian Spanish Language Academy.
