In Part 2 of this two-part presentation, attorney Tom West continues his examination and comparison of terminology used in Mexican civil lawsuits, including evidence (pruebas), types of judgments (sentencias), and appeals (recursos).

About the Presenter

After five years of practicing law with a large Atlanta law firm, presenter Tom West founded Intermark Language Services in 1995. Intermark recently celebrated its 16th year in business and is widely recognized as the go-to firm for legal and financial translations.

Tom received his B.A. degree in French and English from the University of Mississippi summa cum laude and his M.A. in German from Vanderbilt University, where he was a Harold Stirling Vanderbilt fellow. He earned his J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law. He was admitted to the Georgia bar in 1990.

From 2001 to 2003, Tom served as ATA President. He has conducted seminars on legal translation throughout Europe and Latin America. He is the author of the Spanish-English Dictionary of Law and Business (2nd ed. 2011) and is ATA certified for translation from French, Spanish, and German into English.
