The Client Outreach Kit was developed as a member benefit and is free of charge to ATA members.
Using the kit effectively may require you to rework your standard marketing tools and even change your thinking a bit. If your résumé is designed primarily for working with agencies, it probably contains information on your CAT tools, daily capacity, education, and references from other agencies. Most of this will be of no interest to direct clients, who are focused simply on selling their products and services successfully. What they want to know is how you can help them do that.
To adapt your marketing materials to a direct clientele, you’ll need to concentrate less on how you do your work, and more on what you can do for your customers — the translator and interpreter as solution providers. This keeps your message informative and upbeat, and highlights your own expertise. The Skills Modules can help.
