Stand Out from the Crowd

Language Services Providers need hundreds of translators and interpreters. Unless you stand out from the crowd, you may be overlooked. This workshop will focus on how to approach a prospective LSP, get noticed, and “sell” your services. After a brief look at the roles and responsibilities available within an LSP, attendees will understand the types of skilled individuals that agencies are looking for. By discussing topics such as creating a distinctive cover letter, what to include on your résumé, and other means of marketing specifically to LSPs, this session will help participants polish the skills required to successfully stand out from the crowd. The presentation will be interactive, employing a number of live cases as examples.

George Rimalower founded ISI Translation Services in 1982. He developed ITAP, a language assessment and training program used by health care organizations to enable effective communication with non-English-speaking individuals. He is certified as an interpreter by the State of California. A native Spanish-speaker, he was educated in Argentina and the U.S. He speaks English, Spanish, and German.

In 2004, she served as the president of the Florida Chapter of ATA.
