Great Article Alaina! As a former translation production director, I am a big proponent of processes, i.e., [it is essential that LSPs of all sizes (as well as freelancers that outsource work) employ a project management methodology; whether it’s TQM, Agile or a proprietary methodology. These go a long way towards solving all the issues you mention. Every PM methodology should include processes/procedures for: Project Start/Project Planning/Project Execution and Monitoring/Project Closing. Additionally, the team doesn’t have to reinvent the wheel when someone is sick, away, etc.
