Emma Carter
Description
While I currently work in technical translation, I specialize in trauma-informed translation and interpreting. My thesis to receive my Master's degree involved translating trauma across the Spanish/English language gap, and the cultural expectations surrounding the discussion of trauma. Working with victims and survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault is a large part of my training, as well as a previous certification as a South Carolina Victim Service Provider.
Outside of trauma-informed translation, my most recent education allowed me to learn the intricacies of multimedia translation and subtitling.
