I am a native Azeri (Azerbaijani) and Russian speaker and a near-native speaker of Turkish with over 20 years of experience in translation and cultural research. As a linguist and a cultural researcher, I am aware of unique cultural and social norms of the geographies in which these languages are spoken, and incorporate them in my work. Some highlights of my work:
- Award-winning author of cookbook, Pomegranates and Saffron: A Culinary Journey to Azerbaijan (1st Ed.2014, 2nd Ed.2015), written based on seven years of research of the country’s food scene and culture.
- Speaker on culture topics at different venues, such as libraries, cultural centers and private events. Spoke at the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C., March 2017.
- Over 20 articles and interviews on topics of culture published in Azerbaijan International Magazine, recent article in Visions of Azerbaijan Magazine.
