Description
Happy to say I gave a presentation on Handling Foreign Names, Dialects and Archaic Language in Complex Translation Jobs at the American Translators Association's Annual Conference in Miami, Florida, on October 28, 2023, at 16.00. There were only 168 slots available, and I feel very proud of having been selected. #session188 The session has been positively reviewed and attracted the best possible audience interested in this topic.
What follows is my general information for potential clients.
Dear Clients,
I run a registered translation business and provide B2B translation services in person. As an ATA voting member and certified translator, I also offer certified translations of academic and educational documents required by American universities, institutions, and organisations like NCEES.
Being an established, high-end translator/interpreter with vast, documented experience, I do not get involved in lengthy onboarding procedures. I have interpreted for Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Forbes List CEOs. I do not disclose my rates and send out my CV to Everybody. If you are interested in ordering a specific service, I can give you a quote. For new clients my quote is available for a symbolic pre-paid handling fee, which has been introduced to cut down on countless automatic enquiries about my rates/my CV/a free sample test. The fee is deducted from the total price upon receipt of the purchase order. Agents interested in updating a price list in view of potential jobs need to hire a translation industry consultant.
Having said that, I wish to underline that I am always ready to work with you on defining the specific terms of our cooperation. I can also do a short, paid sample test if you need to test my proficiency. Hoping for our fruitful collaboration on many thrilling, multidisciplinary projects.
Katarzyna Diehl
P.S. My opinion about the translation and interpreting industry in 2025: As a person having a top-grade university degree in translations and interpreting, I have always been against agencies and end clients who try to shortchange fully qualified freelance interpreters and translators - we serve both agencies and end clients to the best of our ability and this has to be acknowledged, both financially and in all other respects, including working conditions.
