Marcela Hernández Navarro

Description

Marcela Hern√°ndez is a Miami-based certified translator and holds a Bachelor of Science in Translation from the University of the Republic of Uruguay. She has been a freelance translator for more than 20 years. Her areas of specialization are: Education, Social Development and Legal.

Marcela has taken post-graduate translation courses, namely, Text Analysis and Advanced Translation at the University of Edinburgh and Legal Translation Practice at Florida International University.

As part of her extensive experience as freelance translator, Marcela has been translating for important international organizations such as: Action Aid International, CITIBANK NA, Center for Supportive Schools, Development Alternatives for Women in a New Era (DAWN), Florida International University (FIU), Global Campaign for Education (GCE), Greatminds, Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (CLADE), among others.

She has also translated several books in the social development area, being the latest one: “The Remaking of Social Contracts: Feminists in a Fierce New World” Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era (DAWN), October 2015,
