Originally from Tokyo, I have lived in the United States for more than 30 years and am currently based in San Diego, California.

Over the past eight years, I have provided more than 450 simultaneous and consecutive freelance interpreting assignments, both remotely and on-site, for multinational corporations, consulting firms, government organizations, universities, hospitals, and technology startups. Recent assignments have included international conferences, executive meetings, expert interviews, and technology workshops.

My areas of expertise include IT, AI, aerospace, semiconductors, and business in general, as well as medical and life sciences. I also work as a contract interpreter and translator for Sony Interactive Entertainment (currently 50% freelance and 50% in-house), supporting U.S.-Japan communication in game development, IT, legal, marketing, and executive meetings (over 450 meetings).

I hold a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego, which enables me to quickly understand complex technical concepts and communicate them accurately. I have also regularly provided simultaneous interpretation for international academic conferences and university seminars.

Having lived in the U.S. for decades and being married to an Indian engineer, I am comfortable communicating with speakers of a wide variety of English accents, including American and Indian English.
