Mr. Grigori Gazarian
Description
Originally from Moscow, Russia, where I studied journalism and took my first steps in Spanish at Moscow State University, I moved to Mexico City in 1996. My professional career as a translator began shortly before I graduated from the Instituto Superior de Intérpretes y Traductores in 2002.
After working as a freelance translator for a Mexican publishing house—where I translated nearly 20 books and wrote a short biography of one of my favorite Mexican writers—I took on in-house translator roles at several companies. Over time, I developed a keen interest in translation project management and related fields. Despite these shifts, I continued translating for a diverse range of clients. Some 10 years and 10,000 projects later, I realized it was time to chart my own course. Together with a group of colleagues, I co-founded The Sensus Team, taking on the role of lead project manager and editor.
In 2021, I was certified as a government-accredited Russian-Spanish translator (perito traductor) by Mexico's Federal Judiciary Council, a designation I successfully renewed last year. In 2023, I was appointed as a Russian-Spanish and English-Spanish perito by the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City.
