Ninie Syarikin, MFA
Description
For over 20 years, Ninie has worked as a writer, editor/proofreader, translator/interpreter, book reviewer, researcher, and broadcast journalist. Some institutions that she has worked for, among others, are the US Agency for Global Media Voice of America Indonesian Service in Washington, DC (federally retired), the National Geographic Society Translation Department (freelance contractor), language schools, US Courts, and some prestigious law firms. Prospective clients may ask for links to her publications. Ninie has also served as a language educator/tester, cross-culture consultant, and voice talent. She has many repeat clients who find her reliable, flexible, and comfortable to work with. Besides being an ATA member, Ninie also belongs to the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Coalition of Independent Scholars, and the Fulbright Association. Ninie has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English with a concentration in Translation Studies from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia, and holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from The University of Tampa, Florida, besides having attended the American Studies Department at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
