Dr. Norma L. Jackson
Description
I hold an Advanced Certificate in Translation from the University of Chicago Graham School of General Studies. The one-year course certificate consisted of five courses: Translation Theory, Translation Tools for Business, Commercial Translation, Legal Translation, and Medical Translation. I took two graduate level translation courses at Montclair State College. I hold a certificate in Educational Credentials Evaluation from the World Evaluation Services (WES). I have translated documents for the South Carolina Department of Education; and have been an interpreter at many international conferences in Latin America, including African business delegations to Colombia. I accompany H.E. Abena P. Busia, Ambassador of Ghana to Latin America, in all her trips to Colombia as her official interpreter. I am the official interpreter and translator for The African Diaspora Development Institute (ADDI), an organization whose founder and CEO is Dr. Arikana Chihombori Quao, former Ambassador of the African Union to the US. Currently, I am translating her book Africa 101 from English into Spanish. In 2022, I completed a 160-hour certificate from The Medical Interpreting and Translating Institute Online (MITIO).
