Paula Ianelli

Description

Paula Ianelli is a Brazilian conference Interpreter based in New York City. She was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and has been a translator and conference interpreter for over 15 years. She's a member of AIIC, APIC and TAALS, and she's certified by the ATA and ABRATES. She holds a degree in Translation and a full diploma in Conference Interpreting. Her work as a volunteer includes having served as a board member of ABRATES and currently being an Assistant Administrator of ATA's Portuguese Language Division.

As a conference interpreter, Paula has been helping her clients meet their multilingual communication needs during conferences, symposiums, meetings, audits, market research and trainings in a wide array of fields ranging from politics, business, human rights and entertainment to IT, retail and videogames. She's interpreted from celebrities like Sandra Bullock and Will Smith to politicians like American Vice-President Kamala Harris and Former Brazilian President Michel Temer, working at events with thousands of listeners and live broadcasts to global audiences. She has a complete studio for Remote Simultaneous Interpreting and has been trained in multiple RSI platforms.

Paula's work in written translation is heavily geared towards crafting well-written texts that sound elegant and natural to a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker - hence her expertise in the creative realms of transcreation and game localization and geek entertainment. She's had the pleasure of translating AAA games for PS5, XboxOne, PS3, Xbox360, Nintendo Switch, Facebook and mobile platforms, including titles like The Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 and ZombiU.
