Mrs. Régine Duroska-Murray
Description
I am a legal translator and certified court interpreter with more than 18 years of professional experience. I am court-certified in French and Haitian Creole through the Consortium for Language Access in the Courts. I have interpreted before the United States Congress and currently work in the Maryland court system as well as other courts across the United States. My work also includes translating and transcribing hundreds of pages of legal documents.
I am fluent in Haitian Creole, English, and French, with advanced proficiency in Spanish. In addition to my interpreting and translation practice, I have taught Haitian Creole at the Haitian Embassy in Washington, D.C. I am also a proud member of the Haitian Creole Academy.
My academic background includes a Master of Professional Studies in Interpreting (French/English) and a Graduate Certificate in Consecutive Interpreting from the University of Maryland, College Park, along with degrees in Legal Studies and Paralegal Studies. I have also completed advanced training in translation and interpreting at Georgetown University, the University of Massachusetts Boston, and through the Language of Justice program at Cross Cultural Communications.
