I am a legal translator and a certified interpreter with over twelve years' experience.
I have passed a series of exams from the Consortium for Language Access in the Courts to become court-certified in Haitian Creole and court-qualified in French.
I have interpreted before the United States Congress and currently interpret in the Maryland court system and other court systems in the United States. I have translated and transcribed hundreds of pages of legal documents.
I am fluent in Haitian Creole, English, and French and have advanced proficiency in Spanish. I have also taught Haitian Creole at the Haitian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
I have a Master of Professional Studies in Interpreting (French/English), a graduate certificate in consecutive interpreting degree from the University of Maryland, College Park; a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from University of Maryland University College (now "Global Campus"); and an associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from Montgomery College.
I also have training in translation and interpreting from Georgetown University's continuing education program, advanced training in Haitian Creole translation from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and training in community interpreting from Cross Cultural Communication's Language of Justice course.
In Haiti, I attended the Academie Nationale Diplomatique et Consulaire, a diplomacy college in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
I am a member of the Haitian Creole Academy.
