Rony Gao

Description

Rony Gao is an accomplished conference interpreter, certified translator, and communications consultant based in Toronto who serves clients worldwide. With native-level mastery of both Chinese and English, he is certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) for translating from Chinese into English and from English into Chinese. He holds dual master’s degrees in conference interpreting from Glendon College, York University and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) at Monterey. He is also a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC) and is accredited by the Federal Government of Canada for simultaneous and consecutive interpreting between Chinese (Mandarin) and English.

Rony Gao has provided simultaneous and consecutive interpretation for notable figures such as the Chinese Premier and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a number of United Nations specialized agencies and events such as the Tokyo Olympic Games. He has won several prestigious awards, including first prize in the Chinese-English Simultaneous Interpreting Invitational Tournament at the Beijing Language and Culture University in 2021.
