Description
I am a native speaker of English and Spanish, and have an MA in Linguistics from Cornell University (1984) and a BA in Linguistics/Spanish (Lang & Lit) (Double Major-Graduated with Distinction in all Subjects) from Cornell as well (1980). I was an NRF Scholar for Linguistics studies in Portuguese and have been working in translation/interpretation for over 40 years. I have been a Member of the ATA since 1997 (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Literary, Legal, Medical, Science & Tech, Government, & Interpreters' Divisions). I have served on different Committees in the Spanish Language Division of the ATA, most recently on the editorial committee of the Division Newsletter, Intercambios. I was as a member of the Colombian Translators' College (CCT) from 1998-2011 (Legal Rep. 1999-2002); Moderator of the CCT's online community, Coloquio-CCT (2000-2011). I have been a member of the Atlanta Association of Interpreters and Translators (AAIT) since 2011. Specialty Areas: Business, IT, NGOs/Human Rights, Legal, Telecommunications, Internal Audit.
