This presentation will examine the meaning of Palliative Care (PC) and the difference between PC in pediatric and adult settings from the perspective of a healthcare interpreter, while focusing on the importance of differentiating between Hospice and PC, and how to consider possible translations of these two terms.
Palliative Care encounters can be emotionally taxing, linguistically difficult and highly challenging, so tips will be provided on how to be better prepared for different PC sessions.
