About the Presenter

Having been raised in a bilingual home and spending summers abroad, Jorge Ungo’s transition into the language industry in 2002 was a perfect fit with his interest in languages and cultures.

After a stint as the director of business operations for an international interpreting program, Jorge became the Southwest Region Manager for Pacific Interpreters, a nationwide leader in healthcare interpreting.

As a regional manager, Jorge consults with health and social service organizations throughout the southwestern U.S. on designing and implementing cost-effective and efficient language access programs.

Jorge is a former President of the Texas Association of Healthcare Interpreters and Translators (TAHIT) and has served on the board of the Texas Alliance for Patient Services (TAPS) and the National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare (NCIHC).
