About the Presenter

Pablo Muguerza is an English>Spanish medical translator with more than 40 years of experience as a translator, both in-house with McGraw-Hill and freelance most of the time. He graduated in medicine in 1987. Since then, he has worked with leading translation agencies in Spain and internationally, as well as with many major pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations. He is an external translator for the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, and an editor for the Pan American Health Organization. He is widely recognized as a leading authority on the translation of English into Spanish clinical trial protocols, on which he has published a highly sought-after manual on this subject. The second edition sold out in March 2018, and a third edition is currently in progress. He is also the author of a medical translation dictionary, mugüMED, launched in November 2024, which, as of September 2025, contains more than 12,500 terms.
