With 35+ years of experience in the U.S., Ireland, and Spain, he has held roles from freelance translator to senior executive. Steve chairs the ASTM subcommittee behind the F2575 Standard for Translation. He has a master’s degree in Spanish translation and interpreting from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and taught in the graduate program at the University of Maryland. A frequent industry speaker and advocate for standards, Steve brings global perspective and deep expertise to the language services field.
David Huebel is the president of Orion Assessment Services of Canada, where he leverages his extensive experience to guide organizations through the certification process for national and international standards. With nearly three decades in the certification industry, David has assisted thousands of organizations across various sectors in achieving certification. His expertise extends to developing and implementing audit schemes for industries and associations looking to establish their own standards, including the Language Sector Certification Scheme and Languages Canada Quality Assurance Scheme. David’s personal mission is to transform the certification process into a valuable, educational experience for his clients while maintaining thoroughness and efficiency.
