Translator Workstation Ergonomics and Related Physical Problems

March 12 / 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EDT

Attend this webinar to learn how to avoid the negative health consequences of sedentary behavior!

With a unique focus on the modern translator, this webinar will unravel the perils of sedentary behavior and its intricate ties to health. You no longer have to rely on the vague promises of ergonomic solutions. Instead, equip yourself with personalized strategies embracing exercise, strategic breaks, and science-backed ergonomic tactics.
You’ll learn about eye and upper-body anatomy and pathology related to prolonged sitting and the prevalence of physical problems among language professionals, based on a recent industry-wide survey conducted by the speaker. You’ll hear about adjustments you can make to your workstation setup based on scientific evidence, as well as features of conventional and ergonomic computer peripherals, including desks and chairs that might improve your comfort. Alternatives to sitting will be covered as well. And because physical activity counteracts sedentarism, best practices for taking breaks and exercise will also be discussed.
You’ll leave this webinar with a heightened awareness of the risks of prolonged computer use and a renewed commitment to your holistic health.

You will learn how to:

  1. Adjust your current workstation.
  2. Make new equipment choices.
  3. Help prevent common upper-body and eye problems.
  4. Help address existing problems.
