About the Presenter
Evelyn Cervantes is a professional interpreter and translator with over 22 years of experience in English and Spanish. She specializes in medical, technical, and corporate interpreting, with extensive expertise in both simultaneous and consecutive modes. She currently serves as a quality monitoring specialist for remote medical interpreting. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English with an emphasis on translation from the University of Costa Rica and completed graduate studies in translation at the National University. Evelyn has worked with multinational corporations, international organizations, and government agencies, contributing to advancements in remote interpreting technology and professional standards. Widely recognized as a leading specialist in the use of artificial intelligence for translation and interpreting, she has collaborated with platforms such as Zoom to improve simultaneous interpreting features. She also serves as president of the Costa Rica chapter of the International Medical Interpreters Association and remains strongly committed to promoting professional development and innovation in her field.
